Small Head...

Lots of random stuff today!

A small head is the report from the doctor!! First it is the weight, then it is the throwing up and now that both of those are going well, it is his stinkin head! Our doctor is concerned that Malakai's head isn't growing properly. What are they going to do for that? How do you make a head grow properly? Doesn't it just grow? I have honestly never heard of this, but apparently it hasn't grown at all since he was born. Proportionally, I don't think his head looks small, but then again, who am I? I'm just a new mom, who has never heard of a head not growing. Honestly, our doctor is great and we did choose him based on the fact that he did his residency at Helen Devos Children's Hospital. Given Eric's and my health when we were both born, we are extremely lucky that this is the only thing that is wrong.

Well, Malakai has really started holding his head up a lot better. It might be related to it being small for his age, but I like to think it is because he is super strong!! He also sits up good as long as he is supported from behind or is leaning forward a little. It is so cool to see him develop all these skills. He has also started to laugh and cry when you come and go out of his sight, which is super cool.

Too bad Malakai doesn't realize how much snow we have. Man, we could really have some fun out there, well once it gets above the negatives!!! I don't think he has even touched snow this year, unless it was done while I wasn't around.

Here is a great video for everyone to enjoy!!!

Well off to bed, I now have to get up at 4 in the morning!!
Have a great day and God Bless!

New Week...New Pics!!

Boy oh Boy...it is going to be cold here this week. Which means, more time to take great pictures of the baby!! This was our first day on our new schedule. It is 8:00 and I am ready for bed. Anyway, we have no idea how long this schedule change is going to be. We are praying not for long, although, Grandma Jodi gets to spend a lot more time with Malakai.
I also figured out how to add more than 5 pictures at a time!!!

This is one of Malakai sitting up. He was leaning against the couch, but it is great progress. He really does enjoy sitting up and looking around. Milo wanted to get in on the action too!
Aww...I came home from running errands and this is what I found...how cute!
This is his super cute outfit that he got from G&G Carol for Christmas. He really likes being cheek to cheek with me.
Jakob and Malakai are going to be friends forever!! Jakob is Corey's son. For those who don't know Eric and Corey have been best friends for fricken ever and are only a few months apart. Well, so are their first born sons! How great is that!!
I just really enjoy this picture. Eric was messing around with the colors and just snapping pics of us. I think it came out wonderful.
Tyler is Malakai's cousin. He is about a year and a half older than him. Well Malakai was having tummy time on the table and Tyler thought he had to be in his diaper and on the table as well. They are super cute together!

I really can't believe how big he has gotten already! I look back at pictures from when he was born and it seems like he was so small then!! They really do get big fast.
Well, off to sort some clothes...the newborn stuff doesn't fit anymore!!
God Bless!

We must trust the Lord!

What a week!

Monday, I went back to work. What a day... I was suppose to be out of work at 4, but I was so busy in the afternoon that I didn't get out until 4:45. Then I proceed to pick up Malakai at Eric's parent's house. While I was there I found out that Eric's shop laid off 1/3 of the shop!!! Freaky...Thank God it wasn't Eric. Oh I forgot...while I was at work, we found out that the water pipe coming into our house had to be replaced. The estimate was $700 and that was if they were able to not break the sidewalk in the process. I was so ready to go to bed that night and just put this day behind me.

Then came Tuesday. Malakai had his 2 month check up. Well, surprise surprise, he isn't gaining weight again. He weighed in at 10 pounds 1 ounce. The doctor thinks that because when he was sick, he wasn't eating as much, so that might be a factor. Now we have an appointment next Wednesday to check his weight again. He also had his shots, but thankfully they didn't make him crabby at all! So Tuesday wasn't as much of a horrible day as Monday, but then came yesterday...

...My day began with me starting my 12 hour shift at work (gotta love workin for family). Well, the plumber came down to dig up the pipe and begin his work. They dug up my whole front yard, and then found out that the pipe was broke on BPW's side. Thank God!! We no longer are responsible for it. Although, my front yard is now all sorts of a mess. When I found this out at work, I literally did the happy dance! Then I was asked to work an extra shift next week, which will put me into hard core overtime. I really thought that everything was starting to turn around....

...Well, the weather started to get a lot worse. Everybody coming in said that the roads were a sheet of ice. Shortly after we found out about the ice, we had an accident happen in our parking lot. Thank God, nobody was hurt what so ever, the vehicles were just a little smashed up. Well, I really started to worry about Eric having to drive home at 1 in the morning from work. HAHA...I really got a lesson in worrying...Eric called the restaurant at about 7. He was on his way home!! I really shouldn't use '!' because that usually means something good...well it isn't. Thankfully he didn't get laid off, they just switched his shift. Which, means that he does have to take a pay cut because he is going to 1st. We were able to work things out with Eric's mom and she will be able to watch Malakai everyday we need her except for Friday early morning...

Looking back at this week so far, it has been crazy. Now I need to find a sitter for tomorrow morning. Even though things don't look that great (literally, I should take a picture of my yard), I know that God has our back. We don't need to pay to get the pipe fixed, Thank God, and I am able to work my Mary Kay any night of the week now. We just need to trust that God's plan is the best and that He is in control.

Here are a couple pictures.

Well, everyone, have a great day and God Bless!

Goodbye '08 ... Hello '09

What a year! Eric and I have been so blessed. We have our wonderful little family, an amazing relationship, loving extended families...the list could go on. We just thank God for everything He has done and continues to do. We pray that '09 will bring us just as much to be thankful for!

We had such a great Christmas. Honestly, I really didn't enjoy Christmas that much. Isn't that sad? I completely celebrated and enjoyed the reason for the season, the birth of baby Jesus. I really got sick of the materialisticness (not really a word) of it. I loved spending time with the families, but really wish I could have spent more time alone with Eric and Malakai. I felt like we were continually gone. Just really really busy. We didn't even put up a Christmas tree this year because I was so out of it. I really think it didn't feel like Christmas in our house. Then there is the stress of having to go back to work. Realizing that Christmas was actually here, meant that I had to start work again in 2 weeks. The transition has gone well so far, we'll see how next week goes! My Grandparents are leaving for Florida, so I have to do the bookwork for the restaurant as well.

The first picture in this block is of Malakai with his new Glow Worm that Grandpa and Grandma B sent him. He really enjoys when the face lights up for him. Malakai in his stocking was taken one very early morning when we couldn't sleep. Well actually just me and he woke up and was hungry. I thought it would be cute to put him in his stocking, but he really didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped.

We discovered Malakai's new joy of playing ping pong and pool (he is actually screaming his head off on the pool table, he doesn't like being on his tummy very much). He is quite the little trooper when it comes to mommy snapping pictures of him!

Malakai did extremely well for being a sick little baby. The doctor was concerned about him getting a bad case of RSV, but thank God that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. He was pretty crabby when he was awake and he wasn't acting like my sweet little boy. Now he is getting better and smiling A LOT more!

Well I pray everyone has a better '09 than '08 and that God will continue to bless us all.
Have a great day!!
