Dancing

Yesterday, Malakai had a special visitor! It was his great cousin Beth! Beth is going to school for Early Childhood Development and she is doing a paper on newborns, 0-4 months. What a great opportunity for her to spend time with Malakai! While she was asking me some questions and I was getting ready to go, she started playing some music. Malakai went crazy! He loved it. I walked in and saw this:Isn't it just so cute! They were both dancing their hearts out. Malakai really loves music. When I was pregnant with him, he used to kick while we sang at church. Then once the music stopped, he stopped. It was so cool. Now he listens to music a lot and aparently will dance to it as well!

Getting Bigger!

In about a week, my little dude will be 5 months old. I know he is still little, but it is just one month away from being half a year old. It really doesn't seem like it has been 5 months. Everyday he does something new, it is great. Now when Malakai eats, he has to "help" keep the food in his mouth. Sometimes he will reach out and push my hand (the one holding the spoon) into his mouth. Feeding him is really such a mess, but it is fun!

The other day, I put him in his swing to take a nap, usually it only takes a couple minutes. After, I swear, he was asleep, I decided to go outside and do some yard work. So I took the monitor with me. After a couple minutes, I couldn't hear the swing moving. I go back inside, and this is part of what I see! When I walked in he was sucking on the blue half hoop thing. I was impressed because normally he can't sit up by himself in his swing. So he is getting stronger.

The Joy of Staying Home!

Everyday, I get at least two tickle session with Malakai! He laughs so hard. Today I thought it would be great if I took a video of it and shared it with you. He can really get going. Sometimes you don't even have to touch him and he will start laughing. Usually after we get done laughing our heads off it is nap time for him. I am so glad that I get to stay home and have the joy of seeing him in all of his daily habits. He really is quite the character. Eric and I are so lucky to have such a great little man!
Enjoy the video!

Eating, Crying, Smiling and Shaking!

We are moving forward full speed ahead! Malakai is developing so great. His little personality is coming out and it is fun! Last week, there was a day that Malakai ate over 40 ounces of formula and he was still not content. So that night, I told Eric that I think we should try feeding him rice cereal. Oh boy was that fun! I tried to post a video of it, but Eric has to make it shorter. He wasn't very fond of it the other day. So we have just been putting it in his bottle and once in awhile I would try to feed him some on a spoon. Yesterday, he did very well! If I would turn my head, he would put his bib in his mouth and suck on it. It must have tasted great from the cereal that he spit out! Here are some pictures! This is the first time he ate with a spoon! I really don't think he swallowed any of it!

This was the improvement! His bib was soaked (that was before he discovered what was on it!). This time I'm pretty sure he at least swallowed some of it!

I took this on the other day. He is getting so long. So I thought I would just post it. Tomorrow he has a doctor's appointment and then we'll know just how long he really is!These two are from his new toy. Well the toy is from Papa KP for Christmas, but he was to little to play with it. This is the first time that he actually held onto it and shook it. Now he loves to play with it!These three all go together. The first one is Malakai, checking out Tyler's new ball pit that he got for his birthday. The second one is his decision on whether he actually liked it and Tyler trying to persuade him to stop crying. Finally, Malakai just thought the whole deal was nuts and decided a nap seemed better! The two of them together are great!
Well that's all I got for now. I'll try and post more more often now that I'm really not working and have been getting up at 5:30 with Eric every morning!
Have a great day and God Bless!

Bath Time!

Malakai has actually started to enjoy getting a bath. Up until now, I literally dreaded giving that child a bath. He would scream and scream....oh the memories are horrible!
The other day, for the first time, he did not cry. He actually was kicking and laughing. The joy of it was awesome. I just sat back and let him kick around for a little bit. Bath time is only getting better. Now he has to master the skill of not peeing in the bath water!
Time has really flown! I can't believe that I have been off of work for 2 weeks already! I am absolutely enjoying the time that Malakai and I are able to spend together. He has started becoming more attached to me. Yesterday we went to a friend's house for lunch. I had to be in his sight, otherwise he would cry. The minute I would walk back into the room, he would be fine! What is he going to do when I have to go back to work?
Well, time to wake the little stinker up and give him breakfast!
Have a great day and God Bless!
