Goodbye '08 ... Hello '09

What a year! Eric and I have been so blessed. We have our wonderful little family, an amazing relationship, loving extended families...the list could go on. We just thank God for everything He has done and continues to do. We pray that '09 will bring us just as much to be thankful for!

We had such a great Christmas. Honestly, I really didn't enjoy Christmas that much. Isn't that sad? I completely celebrated and enjoyed the reason for the season, the birth of baby Jesus. I really got sick of the materialisticness (not really a word) of it. I loved spending time with the families, but really wish I could have spent more time alone with Eric and Malakai. I felt like we were continually gone. Just really really busy. We didn't even put up a Christmas tree this year because I was so out of it. I really think it didn't feel like Christmas in our house. Then there is the stress of having to go back to work. Realizing that Christmas was actually here, meant that I had to start work again in 2 weeks. The transition has gone well so far, we'll see how next week goes! My Grandparents are leaving for Florida, so I have to do the bookwork for the restaurant as well.

The first picture in this block is of Malakai with his new Glow Worm that Grandpa and Grandma B sent him. He really enjoys when the face lights up for him. Malakai in his stocking was taken one very early morning when we couldn't sleep. Well actually just me and he woke up and was hungry. I thought it would be cute to put him in his stocking, but he really didn't enjoy it as much as I had hoped.

We discovered Malakai's new joy of playing ping pong and pool (he is actually screaming his head off on the pool table, he doesn't like being on his tummy very much). He is quite the little trooper when it comes to mommy snapping pictures of him!

Malakai did extremely well for being a sick little baby. The doctor was concerned about him getting a bad case of RSV, but thank God that it wasn't as bad as it could have been. He was pretty crabby when he was awake and he wasn't acting like my sweet little boy. Now he is getting better and smiling A LOT more!

Well I pray everyone has a better '09 than '08 and that God will continue to bless us all.
Have a great day!!

Hi Jenn & Eric

Thanks for including the pic of Malakai with his GlowWorm. He is so handsome!!!I know how you feel about the business of the Holiday Season when you have so many family members living close and everyone wants to see you. Maybe you can do things differently next year.

Good luck going back to work. And Happy New Year to you all.

Love and hugs, Grandma Barbie
